Worship at Calvary: September 21

Here’s our worship order from this morning, Sunday, September 21, 2014.

~Psalm 27:1, 4, 5

How Great Is Our God

How Great Thou Art

In our small groups this autumn, we are studying Matthew 5:1-12 (the beattitudes) and our verse for this week was Matthew 5:3,  “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” The following passage from Isaiah and the next songs affirmed that we come to God, poor and needy.

Isaiah 55:1, 6-9
“Come, everyone who thirsts,
    come to the waters;
and he who has no money,
    come, buy and eat!
Come, buy wine and milk
    without money and without price.
“Seek the Lord while he may be found;
    call upon him while he is near;
 let the wicked forsake his way,
    and the unrighteous man his thoughts;
let him return to the Lord, that he may have compassion on him,
    and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.
 For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
    neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord.
For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
    so are my ways higher than your ways
    and my thoughts than your thoughts.

Come Ye Sinners, Poor and Needy

Lord I Need You

Our Pastor continued with his sermon series on the Lord’s Prayer with Matthew 6:13, “And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.”

We closed with the chorus of “Lord I Need You.”
