Worship at Calvary: February 12

Today was my first official day as the Minister of Music at Calvary Community Church.  I still can’t get used to that but I’m so grateful for the opportunity.

We started with “In Christ Alone” by Getty/Townend and went straight into “The Solid Rock” keeping the same feel.

The pastor led the congregation in a responsive reading of Psalm 23.

Then we sang “Great Is Thy Faithfulness” (verses 1 and 3) and went straight into “Oh the Deep, Deep Love” with the alternate tune by Bob Kauflin.

Pastor Tom preached on the importance of music in worship and how we can prepare our hearts before coming on Sunday, using Mary’s “Magnificat” from Luke 2 as his text.

We closed the service with “One Pure and Holy Passion.”

It was a blessed morning of worshiping together.
